Hey guys!  Rainbow Reviews has given me a 4 and a half stars out of five review for the second part of my Torquere Press Chaser!  I’m very grateful to them and to Carole for her excellent review.  🙂   You can read the review here right now!

TITLE: Moment of Truth 2: Choosing the Light
ISBN: 978-1-60370-613-1
PUBLISHER: Torquere Press

As Gary reveals his secrets to Dan, it becomes clear that this will be no easy journey for either of them. Meanwhile, Kim Resnick, police cadet and Gary’s ex, has become entangled in a web of vengeance and hatred that reaches out to Gary and Dan from fifteen years in the past. Captain Stanton, Chief Walker and Dan team up with Kim’s wealthy father to foil a crime and save Kim’s life. When it all begins to go horribly wrong, Dan realizes just how much Gary means to him.

Loving Gary, however, is no walk in the park, and it soon becomes apparent that the shadows of the past still stalk him. Things begin to fall apart and when anger gets the better of Dan, he manages to say exactly the wrong thing. Does Gary’s pain run too deep to ever heal? Or will Dan be able to draw on the power of love to save his friend from tearing them both apart?

Moment of Truth 2: Choosing the Light is the second in a four-part series. Moment of Truth 1: To Serve and To Protect introduced us to Dan Mason, Gary Carson, and Kim Resnick, the primary characters in the series.

Moment of Truth 2: Choosing the Light begins with Gary in the hospital after the traumatic ending to the first book. As he promised, he finally tells Dan the whole truth about childhood and his abusive father, who is only now being released from prison for killing his wife, Gary’s mother. With the support of their supervisor, the two men take a few days off to settle themselves, because, as she says, “love is hard to find these days.”

At the same time, Kim Resnick, Gary’s former girlfriend, is kidnapped, and Dan is called back in to deliver the ransom, which leaves Gary vulnerable to his evil father. Things begin to devolve into chaos. How can this possibly turn out well?

This addition to the Moment of Truth series is riveting, and leaves us once again with a cliffhanger ending. As a reader, I cannot help but be invested in Dan and Gary, who seem so ill suited and who fit each other so well. I recommend that you read Moment of Truth 1 before you read Moment of Truth 2. And then I suspect that you will join me in gazing toward Toronto, where A.J. Wilde lives, impatiently waiting for the release of Moment of Truth 3!
